Mars Square Uranus – Time to Get Going

Every evening you can see the moon growing larger in the sky. We are now at first quarter phase in the lunation cycle, and the key phrase for this phase is: Crisis in Consciousness. This can mean many different things, but the core issue winds down to taking action. And, we begin the week with the moon in Capricorn, a sign that is all about taking action.

The growing moon is leading up to the Aries full moon in one week, on Monday, September 24th. Remember, Aries is a sign of new beginnings, so pitch in this week to set a standard of success.

By full moon, many of the planets will be in the early degrees of their respective signs; Venus in early Scorpio, Mercury at 2 degrees of Libra, Mars in early Aquarius, and Saturn at 2 degrees Capricorn, and even Uranus at 1 degree of Taurus. Surely, this is a planetary journey of new beginnings, so collectively we are breaking new ground in the month ahead. And, personally, it’s likely that each individual will be facing some aspect of having to start anew.

This week two of the most action oriented planets, Mars and Uranus, jockey into position to light a motivational fire. Mars and Uranus move into an exact square aspect on Tuesday, September 18. These two have been partner dancing into this aspect for quite some time. But there is one caveat here – you must still apply your will power to reap full advantage of this planetary aspect.

Mars, now direct, is traveling through Aquarius – a fixed air sign. Mars in Aquarius is stubborn and even fierce in his opinions. However, in an air sign, even Mars can get wrapped up in too much thought.

Hopefully Uranus, now in Taurus can light an everlasting spark in Mars. Taurus is also a fixed sign; fixed earth.

So, we have two dynamic planets both in fixed signs. Think of the fixed signs like freight trains – slow to get moving, but once in motion, they keep going.  Translated, this means, it’s going to be a bit difficult to get going, and you have to get out of your ‘head’, but once you do, you are unstoppable

Remember, the sun is now in Virgo, a sign of diligent work with practical results. Mars and Uranus are busy this week helping you get the job done.

Virgo New Moon

This week is a special new beginning. Not only did we have the Virgo new moon on Sunday, but today is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The mystical tradition of Kabbalah teaches that today and tomorrow are special days to set your intentions for the entire calendar year ahead – so, today is an extra New Year’s Day.

Back in western astrology the sun resides in Virgo until September 22. Virgo invites you to examine WHY you are doing what you do. When you get clear on your motivations, taking action becomes easier.

Virgo also rules the process of purification – again, getting clear on your intentions.

The season of Virgo

Virgo also teaches us to detox our bodies, to eat the right foods, to engage in healthy living practices, and not allow toxic patterns to muddy your clear Light.

5 positive Key words for Virgo are: analytical, industrious, systematic, considerate, and reliable.

And here are 5 traits to overcome during the season of Virgo – being aloof, skeptical, finicky, critical, and self-centeredness.

Virgo delivers a season of hard work with practical results.

The sun will be in Virgo until September 22nd, so, use this time to move ahead by analyzing what you‘re doing, and taking steps to refine your goals and purify your body.

Regarding this week, there are several interesting planetary transits; however, there is also a cautionary undercurrent.

A time to make decisions

One of the best days this week is Tuesday, September 11th. On Tuesday, the Sun steps in to organize and activate both Jupiter and Pluto. With these eventful aspects, the 11th is a great day to make decisions and then take action.

However, on Wednesday, Venus opposes Uranus, so, take caution that you don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. When Venus and Uranus come into play, you may be prone to being overly critical or succumb to doubt; so, think big, but, don’t fall off the wagon.

On Wednesday, remember to heed the good advice you received on Tuesday. The good news, that by the end of the day, things have settled down, as Venus interacts with Saturn – a much more reliable influence.

This week ends with a favorable Mercury trine Pluto, which puts an endcap on to what can be a great week. Provided you don’t go off the rails mid-week – you’re golden.

Good News for September /Living Your Place and Purpose

It’s always refreshing to begin a new month, and now, as we enter September, a new season. It seems that late August always brings a shift in the wind – a significant storm or life event that signals the Autumnal Equinox is on its way.

Sunday, September 9th ushers in the Virgo new moon. This new moon at 17 degrees of Virgo lands two favorable interactions -it trines Pluto in Capricorn and sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio. Honestly, if I wanted to choose something good to have working for me, it would be these positive aspects. The trine sits an open door, and the sextile invites you to take action.

Plus, Saturn stations direct this week, on September 6th. Translated, this means it’s time to ‘go back to school’; Life School that is. Summer vacation (or, winter holiday if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere) has ended and a season of growth in the school of life has begun. Are you ready?

Energetically the week before a new moon is a time for consolidation and making plans that are congruent with growth in the new lunation cycle to come. And, Mercury facilitates that idea this week when he activates a trine between Saturn and Uranus.

Saturn and Uranus – a Father and His Son

Mythology teaches us that Saturn was born of Uranus and Gaia. At the urging of his mother, Saturn rose up and dethroned his powerful father, Uranus.

This week Mercury harmonizes the archetypal father and son by completing a powerful earth trine; Saturn, now direct sits at 2 degrees of Capricorn, Uranus, at 2 Taurus, and Mercury at 2 degrees Virgo.

Uranus represents your unfettered creative force, and Saturn brings discipline to your creativity. With Mercury lending his skill at communication, this grand earth trine delivers an opportunity to unite the disparaging aspects of your own body, mind, and soul. Think ‘UNITY’, and hold onto that thought!

People often ask me how and why I became interested in AstroCartoGraphy, a specialized branch of astrology which shows YOUR best place to live or travel to based on your date, time, and place of birth.

Activate Your Place and Purpose With AstroCartoGraphy

AstroCartoGraphy is also called Relocation Astrology, or Astrological Mapping. The word ‘Astro*Carto*Graphy’ (or ACG) is a trademark term for the maps developed in 1977 by Jim Lewis. Before Lewis developed the mapping system, astrologers had to calculate hundreds of charts in order to get the information shown by one ACG map.

These maps brilliantly combined an ancient art with modern technology. Currently there are only 100 people in the world trained in this branch of astrology mapping; I was #66 to earn my certification. Over the years, I’ve served thousands of clients by helping them find their optimum place to live.

But, it’s important to know that you don’t have to move in order to be happy. Just like your natal chart, AstroCartoGraphy also helps you understand the planetary forces that you are dealing with where ever you are. If you are living in a challenging place, ACG helps you consciously seek out ways you can turn that around.

In short – it puts you back in the driver’s seat – in any circumstance.  A full AstroCartoGraphy study takes me hours to complete because there are so many personal and technical aspects to be considered.

And, I know that not everyone can swing the cost of a full ACG reading. To get the information in your hands, I created the ‘Best Place’ report. If you're wondering about where you are, or what awaits you in another place – this is a great place to start your journey. Wishing you many blessings along the way.

Star Cast for August 28 – Post Pisces Tidal Wave

post pisces
The road ahead is getting clearer every day; step forward and lead with your heart.

Finally, Mars stationed back to direct motion on Monday, August 27th.  Like a stealth warrior, Mars crept back into the late degrees of Capricorn in mid-August and stays there until September 10th.

Mars is exalted in Capricorn, where he gains both temperance and wisdom. With scrappy Mars now direct, things will slowly straighten out. The road ahead is getting clearer every day; step forward and lead with your heart.

I surely felt the Pisces full moon on Sunday, but (sigh) because of a 24 hour pouring rainstorm; I didn’t get a chance to see it! Like a tidal wave, the full moon delivered an overflow of emotion and pulled back the covers on those silly things we humans do to protect our vulnerable hearts.

Mars Has a Mission

Next, in perfect timing, Mars gets his act together. Mars let his wishes be known last month when he aligned with the earth and the sun in late July. And, right after Mars aligned with the earth, he entered into a dynamic, active square to Uranus. Symbolically this is a wakeup call saying that it’s time to pay attention and respond to your inner urgings.

To understand how the energy of Mars impacts you for the remainder of this year, take a look at your natal chart and find where Aquarius and Pisces are.

And, find out where transiting Uranus sits in your birth chart because this is your pivot point of radical change. The house placement of early Taurus and late Aries reveals where you can bust out of lifetimes of stagnation.

Simple Keys to Understanding Your Chart

When looking at your chart to understand what the signs, planets, and houses want you to know-  think of the Houses as revealing WHERE, the Planets teaching you HOW, and the zodiac signs expressing WHAT and WHY.

Until the end of 2018, the houses that hold Aquarius and Pisces tell you the issues that Mars is energizing. Mars wants to tell you where you’re best supported to take action to facilitate an everlasting personal transformation through grounded, refined energy.

Now he is helping you move forward with a plan of action. This last week of August has few major planetary aspects, the most notable being Mercury square Jupiter on Tuesday.

September is packed full of planetary aspects and other events. In the meantime, enjoy these last days of Venus in Libra- it’s a great time to appreciate art, dance, and the finer side of Life.

Be sure to get your September horoscopes, and, wishing you an amazing week!

P.S.  I’ve been getting great feedback on the Sky Log. The Sky Log is like a super in-depth horoscope with an accurate time line. It that tells you where the planets are today (transits) and explains how the transiting planets relate to the planets in your natal chart. It also lists your progressions which is a valuable technique that addresses your personal growth and evolution. Thank you for your kind words about the Sky Log, and I am delighted that it has helped so many!
